Tecklenburger Romantik – North Rhine-Westphalia’s first town trail
The Tecklenburger Romantik was NRW’s first premium town-walking trail – weaving half-timbering, history and nature into a compact loop.
Just after the start, a stepped path leads to the legendary „Witches’ Kitchen“. Across meadows you reach Gut Hülshoff and the Old Sawmill before the picturesque Haus Marck moated castle appears – in 1643 the site of pre-talks for the Peace of Westphalia.
Winding lanes lead to the market square with the Otto Modersohn Museum, the church and the spa park. The finale is the Wier tower with its sweeping view over the Münsterland.
